Fair Work Australia Minimum Wage Review – 1st July 2011

Fair Work Australia have issued their Annual Wage Review which came into effect on 1st July 2011 which has lead to an increase of the minimum wage by 3.4%.  This decision increases the national minimum wage to $589.30 per week or $15.51 per hour for permanent employees, and this increase is also now in effect for casual and temporary employees.

This Wage Review will mean that some clients may see a small increase in their weekly temporary employee invoices as this increase is passed on in order to comply with Fair Work Australia’s rule.

Please note:  this decision does not apply to flood-affected employers due to the hardships they have faced over the last few months.

If you require more information on this decision, please contact Sarah Hamerston at Shave HR on 96000522 to discuss the impact this increase may have on your temporary staff costs.
